I'm William Leara.  I live in Texas and work as a BIOS architect and engineer for Dell Inc.  I've had several software development roles at Dell, including Windows Installer development, build and release engineering, and BIOS development.  Here I am at work in 1999:

The first computer I ever used was an Apple ][+, when I was ten.  The first computer I owned (and still my favorite) was a Commodore 64.  I enjoyed the C64 until I graduated from high school, at which time I got an IBM PS/2 Model 30/286.  In the early 1990s I purchased my own Gateway 2000 DX2/50 machine.  Shortly thereafter I started working for Dell Inc. and therefore was able to save a lot of money by not having to purchase computers anymore...

In 2014 I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering, concentrating in Software Engineering.  What a great experience—find out more here:  https://www.ece.utexas.edu/

My point in creating this site is to participate in the BIOS community, share what I’m learning, and learn from all of you.  I hope you will subscribe to the blog (via RSS or email) and use the commenting facility to discuss the content!
